BECO No.14 ‘Direct Type Pendant’ w Pull Up and Down Attachment, Melbourne c.1958

Exceptionally rare.

This fabulous original BECO pull-down makes ideal lighting over a desk, a kitchen bench or any area needing flexible task lighting. BECO pull-downs are rare in any condition but this one is near perfect. Rewired with black cloth cord, all other elements are original and in perfect working order, including the pull-up-pull-down mechanism.

This light was removed from a midcentury home in Caulfield, designed by Russian emigre architect Anatol Kagan. Kagan specified all the lights in the house, which were being removed due to a rezoning of living areas and an extension. Emma gained exclusive access to the lighting which included several pairs of BECO wall lights as well as original unique BECO copper lights commissioned by Kagan for that home. You can see these in other listings.

This pull-up-pull-down lights can sit at any drop from 62cm to 194cm, making it a very useful addition to work or dining areas.
