GECoRay Mercury Glass Shop Lights, c.1930

GECoRay Mercury Glass Shop Lights, c.1930

Price per light. Only one left - silver shade, no green available.

The General Electric Company produced these lights in the 1930s. They're some of the earliest electric light fittings designed to provide directional light in shop windows. We've fully replaced the metal parts with traditional arm and canopy, including a threaded knuckle joint to offer multi-directional lighting.

Can be wall or ceiling mounted. Versatile and charming, they offer a lovely even glowing directional light or wash, depending on how you set them up.

These are rarely found in numbers. Three have sold to a customer in Denmark.

We have three remaining - two Dark Green shades, one Silver. All have remnant GECoRAY stickers in various states of legibility.

Arm length 49 cm

Shade 22.5 cm deep x 23 cm wide x 16.5 cm high

Total drop 64 cm ceiling to tip

Excellent vintage condition. Brand new metal arms, joints, wall/ceiling cap and gallery, new wired to Australian Standards. Original 1930s glass shade, foxed and patinated, paint scratched on outside of shades, labels in varying degrees of legibility. Overall shades in charming, elegant vintage condition with new metal parts.
