Seguso Murano Caged Glass Pendant Light, Italy, 1940s

Seguso Murano Caged Glass Pendant Light, Italy, 1940s

A lovely light for hallways and entrances, this handblown glass lantern attributed to Seguso, casts a beautiful fishnet pattern on surrounding surfaces. The glass is a beautiful soft bronze-gold, not amber. As always, these lovely lanterns create their own magic and show amazing craftsmanship in the blowing of caged glass with a fishnet pattern.

The total drop from ceiling to tip, including chain and ceiling cap, is 73cm or 28.74 inches, adjustable by changing chain length. Rewired with triple core cloth covered flex.

The lantern has a bronze-gold glass tone with a forged iron cage. It carries an original bakelite bulb fixture in excellent condition.

Height 27 cm

Diameter 18 cm

Very good. Glass has a few scuffs but none particularly visible. Gold painted iron wire cage has signs of very moderate wear appropriate to age. Chain and ceiling cap very good condition.

Takes a standard B22 (Bayonet Cap or BC) bulb. This is easy to change to Edison Screw fixture to suit US bulbs, so don’t hesitate to enquire.
