PRICED AS A PAIR

These are the creme de la creme of rare Bitossi items. Substantial scale with glowing reflective surfaces, these lamps stand out for their simple, gorgeous, sumptuous finish.

Imported by Georges Department Store, where the last owner bought them in the 1970s. I’ve found and sold one other in the last ten years.

Bergboms of Sweden had Aldo Londi produce a series of these in different profiles and finishes, at his Bitossi workshop, unmarked, for Bergboms to label and sell in Sweden. Some must have been imported by Georges Pty Ltd for the Melbourne market.

Terracotta base material, finished in high gloss silver and gold glazes. ‘Made in Italy, 12/72’ label to the base.

I’m exploring shades to be made for these. More information will be added later. The images are masked photos with hand sketched shades, as I test proportions. Better images to follow tomorrow.

Diameter 20cm x Height to the top of ceramic 40cm

Height with shade will be 65cm and shade diameter 40cm

CONDITION:

Some scuffs and glaze spots which disappear in the overall scheme and reflective surfaces. They look amazing, rich and glossy. Rewired, tested and tagged to Australian Standard. Shades to follow.
