French Ceramic 'Spaghetti' Poodle Figurine, 1960s

French Ceramic 'Spaghetti' Poodle Figurine, 1960s
Charming small French ceramic 'spaghetti' poodle in maroon with yellow collar. Totally adorable and highly collectable. French whimsical chic from the 1960s.
In the 1960s, Parisian fashion photography popularised the French poodle to a degree of near celebrity. The image of a decoratively groomed poodle can even be found as a popular motif in fabrics and decor of the period.
The 'spaghetti poodle', whose coat was extruded through a bronze die not unlike those used to make spaghetti, was a particularly popular souvenir of Paris. This one comes in a divine colour - Maroon with a gold collar. He’s just 15cm tall but like all small dogs has a big personality.
Stamped to the belly 'Made in France', indicating a high quality ceramic from the likes of Vallauris, though I can’t confirm a maker.
MEASURES:
15cm H x 18cm Long
CONDITION:
Very good. There are a few tiny, and I mean teeny weeny (less than 1mm) chips to the most prominent bits of the spaghetti fur. These are so small as to be unobtrusive to the naked eye. See images.
