Tall Brutalist Sculpture or Vase or Lamp Base, Italy 1970s signed 'Beltrano'
This is a very tall decorative vase which would be great as a lamp base or just one it’s own for the texture. It’s big (see later images, standard wine bottle for comparison).
Lovely chunky texture and deep incisions all over. Pierced to allow vision right through the vase from front to back. Interior glaze matches exterior.
Heavy earthenware terracotta clay, handled beautifully to create a deeply textural and exciting piece of pottery.
Whites and pinks, to greys to charcoals in the glaze make it very visually appealing. So, though we’ve tried and failed to find out more about the artist, i believe it’s by a really good potter, Italian, 1970s.
Decorative as all get out. Not for the half-hearted. This one is full throttle Brutalist and deserves a place where it can be noticed.

CONDITION:
Some chipping as indicated in images. Some hairline cracks well disguised by the rugged exterior and not structural. Felt pad stickers added to the base by us.
